Fuel Tank Swap?

I'm in the process of replacing the fuel pump in my 98 SS and in doing so, I was wondering if it were possible/recommendable to swap my standard metal tank with the fixed filler neck with a newer plastic tank from a V6 model that appears to have slightly more capacity?

It looks like there would be a lot of parts swapping with all the evap canisters and lines that are mounted to the plastic tank that aren't on the metal tank. I'm leaning towards just putting the metal one back in, mostly for that reason.

Thoughts?
