Fuel Shut Off@ High RPM Until I Let Off Thtottle 95 Z28

my 95Z.. In first gear, neutral, and with the clutch in. when I hit rev limiter at 5994RPM the fuel shuts off as it should. but it does not turn back on at ANY rpm until I let completely off the throttle. This sucks if I pulling out on and there is cars behind me. for a while I didnt know what was the secret to gettin it back on, it was to the point that I was pulling over. then I realised just let off throttle and it resumes. But this can not be correct. Is it?..

in tunercat i have it setup to cutoff fuel at 5994 and resume at 5946, identical in first and second-6th

any ideas on what is going on. thanks

If full throttle causes it to hit the rev limiter, why would you want to keep the pedal on the floor? Even if it turned the fuel back on, it would just keep bouncing off the rev limiter.

Might want to just shift it before you hit the limiter.

I have no idea what happens if you keep the pedal on the floor... I just know when I hit the rev limiter using the stock PCM, my natural reaction was to lift off the throttle.

With my current aftermarket ECU, I can keep my foot on the throttle, and it will just keep cutting spark (or fuel, or both - its selectable) to as many cylinders as required, in a random pattern, to limit the RPM. It makes a pretty cool "machine gun" sound, that you can alter by changing the "seed" in the random number generator.

Experiment with it in programming.
