Re: Fuel Sending Unit

I found you can buy an AC Delco for about $277 beats $400 from the dealer, I bought one at a salvage yard I'm doing the install right now.

Re: Fuel Sending Unit

I assume by asking about the "sending unit" that you are having a problem with the fuel level sensor. If that's the case, check around in parts stores for a level sensor only.

10 years ago when I had a problem, no one made a replacement sensor, and I had to buy a complete fuel pump support unit, as you appear to be trying to do. Even after I bought it, I had to drill the rivets out of the sensors on both support units, and swap the good sensor to the old support bracket, because the old bracket had already been altered for a Bosch pump and braided S/S fuel lines.

At this point, I think someone may be making a replacement sensor. Worth asking around, rather than paying $277 for a lot of parts you don't need.

If you actually need to replace the entire fuel pump support unit, I apologize for misunderstanding your problem.

Re: Fuel Sending Unit

No one appears to make a replacement sending unit, if I buy a pump which I don't need it dose not coming with the sending unit. My sending unit dose not work but my real problem is that the rust on the complete assembly the hanger, I bought one at a salvage yard $50 and installed a racetronix pump on it last night it appears to be working. I hope to start the car this weeking I bought the car with a blown motor three years ago I have yet to drive it.

Re: Fuel Sending Unit

You can check the level sensor with an ohm meter. Courtesy of Shoebox:
