Fuel Pump Question

I have a 87 Iroc 350. I was driving the other day and I got out of the car with it running and noticed a really bad fuel smell. I lifted the hood and didnt notice anything. When I walked around the back of the car the smell was worse on the drivers side rear wheel. I shut the car of and when I turn the car off I can hear the fuel pump running for a couple of seconds. Is this a bad gasket at the fuel pump maybe?

It could be a few things. Sorry I don't know much about the IROC, but have you checked your fuel lines? You could be leaking at the filter.
