Factory fuel pump wiring..

I may have found why I cant get my Racetronix PnP pump to prime/run...The factory harness that enters the tank, at the top, that plugs into my Racetronix iring harness inside the tank...Where the two plug-in, there is a burnt spot on the power wire, where it plugs onto the factory plug..(built into the fuel tank "cap."....How do I test this out? How do I fix this??

Anybody?

You are talking about that yellow connector right? Tha thing is hard to take apart but it can be done and the best you could hope for is to clean it and put it back together. I eliminated it altogether because I'm running two pumps and I thought it was totally inadequate for what I was doing. It also doesn't let you use a larger wire through that connector. Now I saw where a guy made both the wires into the (+) pump wires and made a separate ground using a stud in the cover - I took it one step further and eliminated that thing and made a plug to run some larger wires through there for my pumps.

Yep, thats the connector. Well, come to find out, the connection between the two harnesses were, causing my "intermitent" fuel pump problem..I ended up cleaning up the prongs, with some fine emery cloth, spread them just a tiny bit...Now the connection between the two, is nice and tight. I like what you did, by elimination the factory plug..What all did you end up doing? Use a grommet for the wire to run through, or?
