Edelbrock inline fuel pump question

I'm running an inline pump with the stocker. It's not really needed with bolt on's and the few times I spray it's only a 70 shot. I was wondering if I can wire the pump to a toggle instead of the signal wire from the PCM and just turn it on if I spray. Basically will the fuel pressure be OK running through the inline if it's not turned on. It's too noisy for liking.

Not a good idea as the in-line pump will act as a fuel restriction when not operating.
