Anyone use E3 spark plugs?

I saw them on an old episode of horsepower TV and Gearz. Searching yielded no results. Maybe nobody has tried them but thought I would ask. What's the skinny on the E3?

I don't know if anyone would admit to it, if they were. Don't waste your money on gimmicks.

They where in a podcast in a voice mail. Episode #206 15 minutes in.

I heard such great things about them. I agree the claims and hype the company produces is outrageous. I understand it isn't a miracle product but I was wondering if anyone tried them in their F body.

I wouldn't try them if they were given to me. The heat ranges are really limited, you can't gap them and they have such a huge ground electrode that they block the spark. There's no way in hell I would put those in my car, expecially since the NGKs I have work just fine. Plugs can't give you horsepower unless the ones you're using are all worn out and have a huge gap with eroded, rounded off electrodes or other damage. E3 spark plugs are a joke. So are all the gimick plugs like Bosch +4, Brisk, and Pulse plugs. Those things are like fishing lures - not designed to catch fish as they are to catch fishermen and sell their product.

Give some MPG result comparisons after you have run them.

I'm starting to record the trip mileage and how many gallons for the fill up. I should have several records before I tackle the spark plugs.

I think Horsepower TV did a comparison of the E3 & regular plugs. I know those shows really plug their sponsors, but the did the tests on a dyno & an emissions test unit. The E3 plugs did increase HP & TQ by 2 or 3 & emissions were improved 10-20%. Better spark is good.

Stacy David plugs the hell out of the E3 on Gearz... I am trying them more because of the "why not" instead of the "I want more power".

I want to replace the spark plugs anyway and the E3 are not that much more then the premium plug and actually less expensive than iridium plugs.

Do you see any race cars using trick plugs? For that matter, any high end (where a couple of bucks wouldn't matter) OEM's using them?

Jason Patison - NASCAR
Kevin Probst - ORRS

I'm not sure why that would matter though. F bodies aren't high end cars nor is my Camaro a race car.

Maybe better asked who is using them that are not sponsored by them? People will endorse anything when paid enough.

give them spark plugs and they will use those too. I can't confirm anything about professional racing and I'm not going to be defensive about who they sponsor.
  • I do know for a fact E3 is used at the local motocross track quite a bit. Many guys I hang out with at the track swear by them. It is said they don't foul as easily as the common NGK plug.
  • I also know for a fact 2 local landscaping services now use E3 exclusively for their trucks and all their lawn care equipment.
  • E3 plugs are now carried by outdoor power equipment shops and several stores equipment is sold. A few places like O'reilly carries E3 plugs for cars now.... Why is that?

The point of this thread wasn't to see if they are used in race cars... it was to see if anyone ever used them in their own car they drive and maybe race and what they thought about them.
