Anyone tried repairing their fuel sending unit?

My sending unit in my CMC car has apparently gone bad as it always show past full.

Has anyone actually tried reparing the sending unit or is their no alternative but replace the entire unit?

Thanks,

James

If it is showing full all the time it is most likely your sending unit ground wire inside the tank has become disconnected. Its pretty easy to fix assuming you have done the trap door mod to your car. If you have to pull the tank it will be a bear.

It does show past full all of the time. I do have the trap door, but I haven't pulled the unit to even look at it yet.
