Has anyone ever had any problems with this ignition set-up? Stock Opti, MSD 8.5mm wires, NGK TR55IX plugs (stock gap), MSD coil.

Just asking because the other day I had a guy tell me that MSD wires, and NGK plugs together on an LT1 was not a good choice. I was very skeptical, but wanted to see if anyone running this particular set-up experienced any problems.

 

I don't see what the issue would be. I have run NGK TR-55s with Taylor wires and didn't have any problems. That is with a stock opti and coil too.

Those are good quality parts, no problem with using them. It's funny how some of these "rumors" get started.

 

That is the exact set up I use. I love the IX plugs. You will notice a huge difference.

 

I have the TR55s didnt get the IXs, Accell 8.8 Wires, 6al box, and MSD Blaster Coil and it works like a dream! I have a set of MSDs to be put one when it comes time for another tune up or header burn replacement

 

I have never heard of this problem??????????? I run that setup on my 93Z with no probs......
