Another injector size question
Another injector size question
I hate to ask about an injector size but i just need to make sure of my size. I am building a supercharged 383 with near 15#s of boost. Im shooting for 650 up to 750hp, it maybe closer to 650 until i get fearless of motor problems. But im trying to get my injectors now. Do yall think low to mid 50lb injectors are needed? Im thinking around 52#lbs injector. Also what brand would yall suggest and last ? is can i have to big of an injector?
Are you looking for 750HP at the flywheel, or at the rear wheels? Injector size is a function of flywheel HP.
Given the increased brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) of a supercharged engine, and holding the duty cycle at no more than 80%, you'd be looking at 64#/HR for an engine with 750HP at the flywheel. Check that with the guys on the Forced Induction forum. I'm not at familiar with S/C'd engines as I am with NA and N2O setups. But you can't just use the typical "flywheel HP X 0.07" factor (which appears to be what you did). That is only good for NA applications.

yep thats exaclty what id did to get 52#. But I got two more questions that yall may can still answer. Should I get low or high impedence fo my lt1? And what kind of fuel pump should i get to feed these injectors? Thanks
97ss 383 d1 M6 app with OBD2 PCM. I do run a large Spearco IC and meth/ H2O. I use the Acceleronics acceleronics.com) driver and low Z injectors. 73# Seimens units. I did alot to the fuel system and regulated fuel return circuit. I have than enough injector and top out @ 16 on the WOT PE table Pe vs. rpm. I do like the low Z injectors over the high Z voltage saturation type. I think there is better pintle response from the Low Z units. AFR @ 12.6:1
