Access door?

I am going to be doing a fuel pump swap this weakend. And I think I am going to do the access door mod. My question is how do I remove the fuel pump. Do I need to remove the fuel lines on the top to get it out of the tank? If so how difficult is it to disconnect the lines? Thanks here is a pic with the hole cut and the metal fuel lines on top.http://www.worldisround.com/articles/12533/photo13.html

It would be far easier if you cut almost all the way to the ridge on the left. I did this and then used a sheet of aluminum to cover the hole with screws and sealant. After cutting a larger hole you need a good light to see what you're doing. It take a bit of doing, but with a flat head screw driver you can get the release tabs off the lines.
Search "trap door method" on this site and you should be able to pull up a couple of pages to compare.

here's an excellent site breaking down the trap door method in detailed photos . . .

this tells you exactly where to cut but like was stated above, cut to the left more so you have better access to remove the steel lines, plus it's a lot easier to put them back on that way.
I just did mine a few weeks ago. the instructions that came with the Racetronix pump and the ones on this site tell you to remove the fitting on the flex hose of the old pump and install it on the flex hose of the new pump. Mine came with a fitting on it that didn't look like the one that was on the old pump, but it worked anyway just a different style.
