Under what conditions does it misfire.... cold start, warm idle, cruise, WOT, etc.? Does it start OK, or does it take an extended cranking period?

Is the SES light on, or have you had it scanned for codes?

Is the engine stock, or is it modified in any way? Trans type?

Was the MSD a full Opti, or just the cap and rotor?

Have you checked the coil and the IC Module? Have you checked the fuel pressure?

Get it scanned for the codes and it will probably tell the whole story.

Ouch... add some punctuation

You can not flash the codes on a 94 or newer PCM. If you bought the Actron "scanner" for about $30, all it does is short the ALDL pins, to flash the codes, and the last year that worked on an LT1 was 1993. The box says it works with 94, but it doesn't. You nead a "real" scanner, like an Auto Xray, Scanmaster, etc.

What mods have been done to the engine? That will determine whether you can use the stock heat range plugs, or need something different. The spark plug choice is not dictated by the brand of distributor.

A completely failed MAP sensor will sets a code and turn on the SES light. Simply reading the sensor with a scanner may show whether the readings make any sense. What makes you think the MAP sensor is a problem?

Suggestion:

Add a "signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine, tranny and any major mods. That way, people can do a better job of helping you. We know its a 94 LT1, but it would be helpful to know what else has been done to it.

besides checking everything again on your opti install, plugs, wires, i'd get a laptop, download TTS datamaster, get a free log of a run and send it to Bryan at pcmforless.com

changing the MAP sensor is a 3 min job, i'd change it if it's 14 years old it's only $30, and get the replacement seal for it too

I think i have found the problem. I unplugged the pigtail that connects to the ignition module and when I plugged it back up I noticed that one of the wires had been repaired so i wiggled on it and when i went to crank it it ran fine and hasn't been stalling when i crank it now. But i also noticed that the coil wire is a 7mm instead of an 8mm is this affecting my power? And can anyone give me a list of ways to increase my horses without going into the motor in depth

As long as the Delco wires are the ones with the "Opti" ends intended for the LT1, and they plug into the MSD distributor, they are compatible.
