My daughters z28 won't turn over. Lights & radio come on, but nothing after that. The security light does flash while the dash is lit up. We have tried jumping the battery, but still got nothing from it.

Please help!!

 

People use the term "turn over" in different ways. To some that means the starter cranking the engine, to others that means the engine is trying to run. To clear up any possible confusion, please describe exactly what happens when you turn the key to "run". Then describe exactly what happens when you turn the key to "start". Does the starter engage? Does it attempt to crank the engine?

Since the SECURITY light is flashing, have you tried cleaning the contacts on the resistor pellet on the key, and in the ignition key cylinder? Does the SECURITY light continue to flash when you try to start the engine?

 

Thank you for tor reply, by "turn over" I mean it does nothing. The radio and lights all come on, but nothing after that. No clicking, nothing. I did rub the connectors on the key and also tried our extra key and got the same results.
