Question 92 RS 305tbi, start and idle issues. IAC?

I have to spray starting fluid in my throttle body to get it to start. Once it starts i have to hold the throttle open till the check engine light comes on before it'll idle. Then once i put it in gear it stalls out if i don't keep my foot on the gas. I changed the AIC because the old one was clogged up with what appeared to be carbon. This solved the issue for a week. I pulled the new AIC off and now it's clogged too. Any thoughts. It kicks out a 23 and 33 trouble code. Also, I have no cover for the air filter so no place to plug the map vaccuum line into. I believe this is whats causing the 33 dtc. Any way i can resolve this issue without getting a cover? Thanks for any advice you may have

The speed-density air/fuel control has 2 critical inputs - inlet air temp (DTC 23) and manifold absolute pressure (DTC 33). You're missing both inputs, it's surprising it starts at all. Air temp sensor is on the air cleaner. You need to get the cover on it. With the cover missing, is the air even going through the filter?

MAP has to be measured after the throttle body, inside the intake manifold. I don't understand how it could measure manifold absolute pressure with the sensor on the filter cover. Are you sure the vacuum hose for the MAP sensor isn't supposed to connect to a full vacuum port on the manifold or TB? My Chilton's shows the hose connecting to the TB. The vacuum ports on the air cleaner cover are for the vacuum operated flapper door in the snorkle.
