hello all. New to the board, long time camaro fan. I own two camaros one is 91 rs v-6 and the other is an 89 iroc 350 port inj. The problem I have is the wiring harness on the 89 is sliced and diced everywhere. I took out the ignition and got power to all the windows and the motor wiring harness, which is all sliced and diced as well. i have a remote start switch hooked up and i got everything working right. It is getting fuel and fire but will not start. I know the vats system is keeping it from starting. anyway to bypass this system. I bought this car for parts for my 91 but its just to nice to part out.

 

You can measure the resistance of the vats key and put resistors in the place the key.

 

well I dont have key, Ive got the ignition switch out just turn the rod to get power to all the acc. it will start with either but thats it. I know i am getting fuel, tested the fuel pump. I think the vats is not letting the car start. I had the same problem with my 91. I had to have a key guy come out and make a key. Im just tyring to get it started to see if the motor and trans are in good shape

You can also jumper your starter relay and bypass the VATS.
