'86 Z28 half engine won't fire
I have an'86 TPI 305 engine and it appears the entire engine bank on the passenger side is not firing. I believe it to be due to lack of fuel as I tested for spark and get spark and there is also no gas smell on the plugs when I removed them. This entire side of the engine stays cold (valve cover, exhuast manifold) and even the exhaust air on this side of the muffler comes out cold even though it is a single cat. and muffler with dual tips. (The other side gets hot). It seems this could be electrical rather than the odds of all four injectors going bad at once....What and how do I test to pin this down? The car actually starts after about 8-10 cranks but runs terrible.

Thanks for the suggestions. Now is this a fuse underdash, or under the hood? I am aware of just one under dash I believe referred to as fuel pump, but the pump is working. If this ends up being it, where abouts are these fuses? This would be great if this is what it the problem is.

I dont know the details of the 86. I only know from my Chilton's manual that the wiring diagram shows two fuses, labeled "INJ 1" and "INJ 2". In the diagram of the 85-89 fuse panel, it shows that INJ #1 is in the second row from the top, 2nd fuse from the left. The other fuse is labeled "F/P-INJ 2" and is the one you seem to have found, in the third row from the top, second fuse from the left. Both of them are 10A fuses.

Thanks for the help! That's all it was, was the fuse. This actually stumped a couple people, who were starting to blame the computer. What was intriguing in this situation was the fact that even though the same pipe is used for the exhaust, save the tips, that the flow actually allowed for only cold air to emit on the side not firing. I would have thought the warmth from the hot side would mix enough to not show a symptom via the exhaust. Anyways, watch for my next problem in the cooling and or electrical topic!
