255lph pump install question

i got a walbro 255lph pump its for my LT1 project, only thing is, the car is still a 3.8L buick right now. i just finished building the diff and putting a modded disk brake rear together. i need to install it to i can finish the rear suspension, and since it all has to come out i was going to put the fuel pump in. i was just wondering if theres any reason not to? i know the v6 runs the same fuel pressure, the added flow shouldnt be an issue should it? just in the meantime till i get the LT1 in.

I can't see why that would make any difference. It's not going to flow more than you need.

you're fuel pressure regulator will keep the pressure in check. it wont flow more unless the engine demands more. aka, with 8 injectors it would take more flow to keep 43.5 psi fuel pressure in the rails as opposed to the 6 tiny injectors on the 3.8

sooooo...no problem putting it in now
