That is weak I can pull wheelies like that on my BMX.

So when the front end is up like that do you just hold on and pray it goes straight?

that pic was taken right before all 4 wheels came off the ground... when it goes up like that, just need to pedal it or hold on and pray

First off, I would like to say, "Thank God", I think I've found a site were I can get some useful info, and not people crying about who's car club is better, or who's civic looks cooler!

Anyhow, I have a '68 camaro with an LT1, and an S-trim Vortech. Nothing fancy, I'm f*ckin' poor, and this is a daily driver. I'm in need of a new fuel pump, and am thinking about running a Mallory Comp 110FI pump for fuel injection. It's rated at 60psi at 100 gallons per hour.

A little about my motor. I'm running an Accel Gen 7 DFI set up with 48 pound per hour Accel injectors. I set my fuel pressure at 60 psi with the regulator referenced to manifold vacuum, so at idle its around 55psi. It's still the standard 350 stroke and bore. I'm using SPEED PRO forged pistons with a 21cc dish part # L2441F, so I believe that puts the compression around 9.0 to 1. I'm running the stock LT1 heads which will eventually get ported. I plan on switching to a Comp Cams custom blower grind as soon as the heads and intake manifold get ported. This is a street motor, and will see very limited track time. A few passes, just to see what it runs. I ultimately am shooting for 600 Hp at the flywheel, and then I might throw a 100 shot of nitrous on top, and that is it. This is no drag car by any means. My goal is a fun street car that can get decent gas mileage with my six speed.

Do you guys think this fuel pump is a good choice for my mild set up. Are there any fuel system changes you guys might recommend? How much boost do you guys think is possible to run with pump gas, and 9.0 to 1 compression with the S-trims adiabatic efficiency? Do I need a T-trim to reach this power level?

600flywheel is 520rearwheel or less if an auto... no need for n2o for that... a 255lph intank pump will work no problems there..

I would still recommend the T-trim as its more efficeint and it will make more boost per same blower rpm.

Highlander,

Thanks for the reply. I plan on making 600 flywheel HP without the nitrous. The Nitrous is just a little extra fun after I hit my 600HP goal. Since I will be running a dry setup (DFI will add the fuel) my fuel system will need to be able to handle this as well. I can't use an intank pump, I've got a '68 camaro.

How many gallons per hour is 255 liters per hour? I don't know the conversion for liters to gallons.

Cool. I can't use an intank pump with my old camaro. Do you think the Mallory is a good pick?

Hey Highlander,

Whats the difference between the YS-trim and the YSi-trim?

How much boost do you run on pump gas? What's your compression?

im not really sure how much boost i will run as my car has no engine still.. waiting for my heads and pistons to arrive..

the difference between the ys and ysi is a new impeller and housing... it will flow 100cfm more of air and its 4% more efficient...

I hope to reach the 700mark on pump gas... not sure if i can but will try...

Where you running an S or a T trim before your YSi? How much boost and power were you making with the old setup?

Was that with 10 psi? Which size blower and crank pulleys? SORRY FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS!

Yes 10psi... 6.66" and 2.75"

BUt boost willbe dependant on restriction, how well does your manifold and heads flow...
