LT1, D1sc w/ twin i/c's, 42# inj's, headers, 3" cat & back.
Also can I get by with a spec 3, or do I need a Mcleod twin?

As long as you're not experiencing any detonation it won't help much. The alky injection helps prevent detonation allowing more boost though, so in theory you would be able to run more boost with the alky injection on the cast pistons.

Re: will alky injection prolong cast pistons life?

i was never interested in methanol injection untill recently. ive got stock internals and worry all the time about my motor lasting. im even seriously considering selling my SC. ive been looking at snow performace's kit. i havent studied the pros and cons enough yet.

ill keep you posted if i find anything interesting. do the same for me would ya?

im even trying to check the benefits of using meth on my engine if i go back to NA.

I like the looks of the snow gm maf kit. Sorry to hear it won't help keep cast pistons cool. I have no detonation with 42# inj's and tune. How much power can stock block handle? I'm at 419 rear wheels.

i would think that lowering temp with the meth would have to have a cooling effect on the pistons. snow says that there is some benefit to having the meth water injection even on high compression engines that are NA.
