I made ~440rwhp (M6) with stock heads and cam on a low CR 383 with an S-trim. A cam would likely have given me another 20-30hp or thereabouts. An intercooled setup with be worth some additional hp as well, so it might be possible to hit 500. Much more and I'd be somewhat skeptical. If CJ posts I'd be curious about the details of his setup, test conditions, etc.

With stock heads and cam on a low CR 383 I made 447rwhp (M6) with an S-trim. A cam might net another 20-30hp and with an intercooler you might see 500 on an LT1. But 524rwhp would be really unusual. I'd like to hear the details of his setup and the test conditions, etc.

OTOH, LS1's easily exceed 500rwhp with boost on stock heads and cam. We have a Corvette at the shop that is completely stock except for a Procharger. It made ~525rwhp. A Z06 with headers made ~580rwhp and 10psi.

My buddy Darius in his infamous 240Z on a low compression 383 LT1 with stock heads/intake and D-1SC ProCharger with 3 core Spearco intercooler, Comp Cams blower cam with blockhugger headers and dual 3" exhaust, no a/c or p/s.... on pump gas made 530rwhp/580rwtq.

He was having OPTICRAP problems and these numbers were made below 4500rpm as it would break up on the dyno at anything above that.

The next reincarnation hopefully running in 2004 has LT4 heads/intake and an IMSA wide body kit on the car with 275/17's up front and 335/17's out back! I think the car should hook up a little better now on the street.

I made 414rwhp on 6psi and exhaust, with a 100% stock LT1.
I'm a torque converter and a prepped track away from high 11's.

Thank you ATI!

he had a p-600b with long tubes,224-236 cam,1.6rr,58mmt/b,m-6,12#pulley,forged pistons,9.2:1 compression. Forgot how much timing he was running but im sure he'll tell that. But thats the jist of it. No, alky injection of any kind was used,

Nice numbers for the stock set up .... do you run a intercooler with your set up (also do you know your total timing for you six pound set up?)

Who did your tuning ...... ?

not bad at all ... really nice numbers.... does he use an inter-cooler for his set up?

Sorry, he had a front mount 2-core intercooler. He has since then changed to to a bigger d-1 and I have his old blower with basically the same setup but Im still going through tuning stages and im usung alky injection where as he wasnt.

Yeah thats basically it, with the 2core front mount. Intercooler was definitly too small air temps would get to around 150-160*. Car ran low 11s@128mph.

Since then Ive gotten a D1 and a set of AFR heads but I destroyed my rod bearings trying to tune it so im in the middle of a rebuild now.

Yes, it had water. I forgot to add that when I installed headers it was up to the 470 range. That was with 10psi.
