I second the motion!!

What is everyone running in the way of turbo cams?
Mfg, cost.. I am looking for a hyd. roller for mine, and already have a spec from Comp Cams.. what is everyone else running, and what did it cost for the stick?

I think Comp gets around $250 for theirs...

Oh, and I will have a LT4 Hot Cam for sale shortly!

it seems a lot of turbo cams are a reverse split (ie 230/220 or something)..........ive read this is because the shorter exhaust duration forces increased exhaust gas velocity, which in turn makes the turbo spool faster.

I have also noticed that reverse split cams are the trend for turbo setups.

It seems all of the valve events are 'normal', except the exhaust valve is closed earlier to avoid overlap.

I will probably try something like-

226/218 116lsa 112icl

I went with a reverse split on mine, 232/226 on a 114, and I think that makes for 1 degree overlap.

If you have an efficient turbo that has a low back pressure ratio then you can actually start getting into bigger cams that have a little overlap. Some of the big hp motors, 2000HP, have no choice but to run overlap because they are running upwards of 270 degrees of duration, but they are approaching 1:1 back pressure ratio.

I had a cam motion hyd roller in mine with a 232/228 dur .533/.528 lift 114lsa. It was in a 406 with AFR190 heads, a PT88 turbo and 9.2:1 compression.

I have no dyno figures, but it ran 126mph in the 1/4 with 5psi of boost, TH400, 3.50 gears 27" tires and the car weighed 3420.

Just throwing that out there for ya.

mine is a 224/220 with .544/.544 lift on a 114. I bought mine second hand (never used) but it was made by GTP and i think it cost me around $200.

It sure would be nice if we all had numbers to go with the different cams. Experimental evidence would sure help.
