Forced Induction Supercharger/Turbocharger

What are these holes in the compressor for?

exactly why i am referencing at the compressor. i would rather have the 1-2 psi loss Thur the inter-cooler. 7psi is what my springs are and that is a tad to high for my current stock engine. i would be ecstatic if i only see 6psi at the throttle body.
