What are these holes in the compressor for?

exactly why i am referencing at the compressor. i would rather have the 1-2 psi loss Thur the inter-cooler. 7psi is what my springs are and that is a tad to high for my current stock engine. i would be ecstatic if i only see 6psi at the throttle body.
if your runnin a intercooler its smart to run at manifold for the reference point as ya get a real boost reference when i first started runin mine i had it hooked to the port in the outlet of the turboi was only gettin 13 lbs of boost so i moved it to the manifold and i got the 15 i was lookin for ya goota think the cooler and piping takes away at least a lb of boost after all said and done
