Ok, I know the answer to this depends on your head cc size and what compression ratio you want.

However I want to know what you all are doing, in practice, on your fi 383 ands 396 boosted lt1s.

I still want to ask it because a dude I know is selling a forced induction 396 ltx w/ 22.5cc dished pistons and 75 cc heads.

Assuming my calculations are correct, I calculated that out and got a cr of 8.5:1 which would be too lazy.

Sorry, just noticed you said 383/396.... I have a 355.

Original configuration:
Stock ported LT1 castings: 54cc chambers
Fel Pro 1074: .039 compressed height
Block not zero decked.
Diamond Turbo pistons w/-22 reverse dome
Calc'd CR was approx. 8.8:1

New TFS heads have 61cc chambers, same head gasket and pistons.

The nice thing is, I only run 93 octane pump gas yet I've been to 18 psi w/o knock/detonation/pre-ignition. No meth, no water, no alcohol injection.

~8.8 CR on my LT1 stroker. And it's very responsive. If your worried about a low CR, just run more boost. I really think there's more to it than just static CR. Eg. Consider timing, amount of boost, and the cam
