water pump flow rating?

Anybody know the flow rating on the electric water pump for a vortech intercooler or the ford lightning one? What are some other choices for pumps. Thanks.

Re: water pump flow rating?

I am not sure exaclty what the flow rate of this pump is but I would strongly recommmend buying a heavy duty marine style pump like a Teel or something close to that and just ditching the one you have. Are you still running the stock water tank? If so, I would upgrade that to a lager one, which will pay big in efficiency of the entire system. These systems are horrrible stock, lots of heat soak from small pumps and small tanks. Hopefully someone will know the rating of your pump so you can have some idea of what is needed on your future upgrade.

Just bought an intercooler with no pump or heat exchanger, trying to piece everything together. Plan on a larger tank in the hatch and looking at heat exchangers to see what I can fit in there now.

Thanks, I'll check the Teel ones out.

Yeah, look at the marine style pump that I mentioned. About a 5 gallon tank will handle pretty much anything. That is what I am running in the rear hatch/trunk area. Make sure to mount the pump low so that it self primes. I am looking at diffeent coolers myself and seeing what everyone else is having good luck with. A B&M super cooler should do the trick. LEt me know how it goes!
