Vac. Restrictor for FMU?
Vac. Restrictor for FMU?
I just finished installing an ATI system on my 94 Z. The book says there is supposed to be a white restrictor for the vacum line. My system was used, I dont have one.
What is it for, is it a one way check valve or something? Do I need it? I drove the car, and all seems fine.
Thanks
Stevie Whitley

Its like a small plastic jet. Its some times used to slow down the air flow to the control device.
In the case of the FMU, it would build boost more slowly and lean the mixture for a short period of time. (helps to control a over rich condition when the boost first starts to build) Preventing a rich bogging condition.
Some of the newer kits us a adjustable bleed valve to do the same thing.
Happy Boosting!
