Question Vac lines-inlet question ( bare w/ the dummy)

For those of you running the 4" inlet custom made what are you doing for the barb fittings that came w/ say the ATI inlet hat? Both those lines can't be vac lines as I thought one was to pull air and the other blow it out so that they opti gets fresh air constantly. Are you just hooking the lines back up to the intake?

If you have both of your opti lines plumed to the intake ducting before the blower, you're not venting your opti at all (no pressure differential between the 2 lines). The opti needs one line hooked to the ducting to obtain fresh air, the second line needs to be connected to your intake manifold in order to pull a vacuum to pull air through the opti.

What he said... But make sure to run the "fresh air" side of it to blower inlet tubing. Then put a one-way check valve in the other line going to the intake so that you're not pressurizing the opti. You don't want to blow the seals out of it.

Shoebox has some good info:

Re: Vac lines-inlet question ( bare w/ the dummy)

Well I have both of those lines as described. So the one w/ the backflow valve needs to go to the manifold the other end to the opti. Will that backflow valve be enough or do I need to order a different one altogether?

Then the other line w/ the that routes to bellow in this pic should have one end going to the opti and the other to the inlet hat for the fresh air source, right? Just want to make sure I understood that right. Thanks guys.
