I am expecting around 650rw on pump, 800-830rw on race gas with this turbo. with nitrous, around 930rw. i may switch to a GT80, which should make ~900 with just the turbo

Thumbs up

Looks good so far Jordo.

How many miles of stainless welding did you have to do before getting the knack?

Keep up the good work!

Take care

Anybody think that a Diesel Turbo will work on a Gasoline application? I don't know how many of you are firmiliar with Banks Engineering (www.bankspower.com) but they currently hold the diesel powered land speed record as well as the Pickup world speed record and truck world speed record. Anyways, the turbo that they are using on the project sidewinder Cummins powered Dakota uses a Variable Geometery Turbo from Holset (www.holset.co.uk). I've read some about this technology and let me tell you, its pretty damn cool. Since you all were talking about turbos and big T80s and what not, thought I'd through it out there in hopes someone might look into using this stuff in the future.

Yes Holset makes good turbos, I can purchase them if you ever want them. The only problem is they do not tell you much information about A/R's and parts are not as readily available as are Garrett and Turbonetics.

HP Performance, a mustang turbo kit manufacturer uses an in house built holset garret hybrid with the only garret part being the exhaust housing

Their base 60mm kit has made over 600hp to the wheels and their upgraded 66mm turbo is making over 700 to the wheels

check them out in the www.turbomustang.com/ in the tuner section

i believe innovative and turbonetics both can make around 700rw with a 66mm turbo also(there is a race class that requires small turbos).

Chuck-
it wasn't too bad, my biggest thing is that I get impatient. When i am relaxed, and not in a rush.. my weld look pretty good, when I start getting rushed they aren't as pretty :-)
