tuning question (low boost/high boost)

im just reading up on some of this stuff, but im wondering, if you operate on low boost the majority of the time, which is 5 or 6 #'s, then flip it up to high boost (12 pounds or so) do you need to re-tune it? or is it just reading how much air is passing the MAF and adjusts accordingly to what you set it at? (i know absolutely nothing about tuning--dont flame me )

A properly tuned MAF car will adjust to match until you max out the MAF sensor, around 500 rwhp.

A properly tuned SD car will adjust to match until you max out the MAP sensor - 1 bar, 2 bar, or 3 bar.
