A-trim makes 446rwhp

Had the oportunity to dyno the car today in 80 degree heat. 7 psi, non-intercooled, stock tune w/ FMU, short shifting at 5500rpm.

The car still wants to pull past 5500 but the stock fuel cutoff is still in place, so the rev limit is set below that.

Made 446rwhp and 440rwtq. I'm happy with all things considered. Bet it would have gone 460 taking it up to 6200-6300.

Nice numbers. Did you have it dynoed before the supercharger?

Thanks Dave.
No numbers at all except for todays.
Might need to do a Vortech exchange to an S-trim and see how it does.

It has forged SRP's, stock crank and rods. I just thought that 450 was decent for a high mileage A-trim w/out tuning.

Thanks,

Ah, thats pretty close to my set-up, I have srp's and I had the rods reworked at a speed shop. You can see by my sig what an S-trim upgrade and aftercooler will do for you.

Flip:

Nice combo. You making that power with stock rods? I'd say that's at the upper end! An S-trim and alky seems like a logical next step .

I know there were a few guys running A-trims here and asking questions...so that's kinda why I posted.....also 'cause I was a bit shocked to see over 400rwhp.

My combo:
-Stock bore/stroke/crank/rods LT1
-9:1 forged pistons
-Ported heads, big valves
-Mild cam (218-230-114)
-Hooker long tubes-4" single flowmaster)
-rockers,ignition,clutch,etc
-Vortech A-trim with 37K miles, 7 psi boost
-6 speed with 3.42 gears

Take care

-Scott.

Re: A-trim makes 446rwhp

Yeah its sort of a freak, I am running 9.2CR and dont really spin it over 6000K most times. Its been to 6700-6800 without the blower. The rods were cleaned up and arp bolts installed by a shop in bowling green. Its got about 20K on the rebuild now.

Other high HP no-no's are that I just run a vented opti and msd coil, edelbrock TES headers and factory fuel pump and T-rex. I'll probably change over to LT's in the next six months and LTCC in a year. I'm not sure if I'll see 600 on the stock rods, I am gonna try to dyno uncorked one day to see.
