Why? as long as the high voltage section is removed it has been proven to be a reliable system. The LTCC isnt that exspensive, its plug and play, and works perfect.

What was your cost to remove the opti?

Cost to remove was right about $300 for me. But it wasn't plug and play.

The ltcc is better than the opti for sure - but I have had just as many failures from the sensor as the cap/rotor. I don't trust the thing lol.

The one that converts to ls style pickups and computer is cool too - but very pricey.

What did you do, put a low profile distributor on it?

Running coil pack per cyl now - but still the same setup pretty much minus the Ford EDIS module. Still waste spark, but doesn't seem to be an issue.

MS3 will support sequential injection and coil on plug straight out of the box with no mods. 6 can be full sequential right now, theres just not enough outputs to do it with 8.

Unless you used nothing but used parts to include the MS3 it is hard for me to believe this was done for 300.00, could we see some pics of the ford system on the car?

Thanks
Steve

Ramair96ws6, that is a great looking setup. How did you mount the coils under the cowl? Do you have any pictures of the mounting brackets?

I bought this kit from thunder racing. polished the end parts and powder coated the rest black.

The most expensive part of that ignition setup is probably the coil pack itself which is about $100.

Megasquirt is pretty nifty. I'm about to be running one on a small block S10 very shortly.

Oh, and Bob said the new harness was $150.

Go to a salvage yard and pull off 2 edis coils for $10. They are 4 post coils, with 2 coils in each pack. So 2 posts per coil really.

It "can" be done cheap. I can pull these of of any Ford in the 90s - The ltcc is a bit more of a custom job so I doubt you find them as easy. FYI the stock 200k mile Ford coils worked fine for me up to about 500hp and then they were not enough. I am now running some screaming demons which were $90ish total and seem to do the job. I would like to go to ls2 coils but have no reason to spend the money on them now.

I suppose it would not be fair unless I throw in a pic or two of the Delteq setup

Is there any issue running the LTCC with a supercharged setup? I heard that there might be, although, I can't imagine what complications would arise. I must ask though, if I were to use the LTCC, how would it change the wire routing of an MSD 6 box or could I run it at all?

The LTCC will run fine with any power adder.

No, you won't be able to run the MSD box with the LTCC since the MSD 6 is used to control ONE coil. MSD does have the multispark discharge version of the LSx coils but they are pricey.

Thats why you should buy a DYNASPARK GEN III and you will not have anymore classic opti issues. They arent cheap but much better than a OEM optispark!
