ok, my opti crapped out with very low miles! at 14psi it made 670 thru a th400 and big stall, and ran 6.2 in the 1/8 the 2nd time out. just wanting some input on the system on FI cars!

I have the Delteq system and am very satisfied. Although the "Brain" is susceptible to heat and needs to be insulated. Unfortunately, Delteq isn't made or supported anymore, (as far as I know).

But it does the job and I haven't had to mess with the Opti ever since. I can assume the LTCC is equivalent.

Of course, there is no additional power from this setup, as the coils are stock GM parts.

I had numerous opti failures with opti sonic welded rotors. My app... 97ss 383 D1 MM6 with MSD 6A/ 8202 coil. To hot for the stock rotor brass electrical mfg mount. I fixed (with no rotor failures ever) by adding two (2) alum 1/8" rivets and filing for clearance. I had a NEW gm opti rotor fail in 1+ weeks. Summit allowed me to return. So, you could say, I always void my NEW purchase warantee, or, call for the tow. HTH. B.

I'm using Magnecor wires with my LTCC. They work good and you can order them in custom lengths.

I bought my LTCC back in 2003. All during that motor (355) and the subsequent Solid Roller 383, it performed flawlessly. I had a '94 Z28 for a while as well as my original owned 96 Z28. The opti on the '94 seemingly went out. I pulled the LTCC of my '96 and put it on the '94 in about 20 minutes. The '94 fired right up and ran perfectly. They are a great addition to the car. Just get the right plug wires, be SURE to wire it correctly. There has been the occasional Opti harness connector oddities(channel or the rib going throught the channel not compatible) but they are easily fixed with a dremel. The new LTCC's use the factory LS1 Coil Wiring Harness. My original one had one wire loom with several wires for each coil. Ugh... Looked like a bag of snakes in my engine compartment. THe new version is much cleaner, having one split loom per engine bank.

Hmm... sounds like it's time to call Bob and get an updated harness for mine. I hate trying to fit all those wires under my fuel rail covers.

Here's my original LTCC from 2003. Look at picture #3 to get an idea of the wiring harness.

Now look at the new one I bought a year ago...

Hmm, I see the 'resizing' of that picture on this site removes the ability to read the captions. Here's the link to the full size picture/text.

Do you have a diagram to do this to the old harness? I talked to Bob a few minutes ago and the price for the new harness is a little steep to replace something that works.

My vote still says its an expensive system that still relies on the opti.

I like solutions that eliminate it.

What did he want for the new harness?
