Ill probably switch to this next year when I run a distributor. Since I have a third gen I have all the room for a distributor . Possibly go to a single plane too.

I thought a lot about a dual synch setup, but decided things would be a good bit cheaper with coil packs.

Are you still using the EDIS8 coil packs or did you switch to individual LS coils?

EDIS coil packs - Unless you run the sequencer you are going to get wastespark even with the ls1 coil packs - doesn't bother me either way, just cheaper with the ford style.

Do you have any pics of your crank trigger wheel installation? I assume you are using a 36-1 with the EDIS.
I was also reading on DIYautotune that the low res output of the opti can be used to trigger a single coil ignition. I wonder if there is a way to use that to run a wasted spark ignition?

Yes you could use the low res pulse and just the edis coil packs without a edis8 module. Thats assuming there is a missing tooth in there, if not you could just close one of the gaps in the disk. The sensor was always my problem with the opti, so I avoid it like the plauge. If I were to switch or do it again I would use the obd2 crank position sensor. If you don't have a 96/97 car you just need the ring, sensor, obd2 timing cover, 96-97 crank hub.

I don't have any good pics, but the motor is coming out soon because I popped a head gasket. I'll get pics of the trigger then. Its just the biggest wheen from DIY with some angle iron welded together for a mount. Mount bolts to the block with 2 open bolt holes.
