supercharger dyno numbers?

I was just wondering what kind of numbers are you guys putting down with all the bolt-ons plus a vortech or procharger? I want to know which way is better to go to achieve the most HP.

Heads and Cam w/ bolt ons vs Supercharger w/bolt ons?

Most people are putting down anywhere from 375 rwhp to 400 rwhp with a stock motor and a supercharger. There are many advantages and disadvantages when going blown. I would highly recommend doing a search before you decide to buy a blower.

I'd be pretty upset if I spent supercharger kind of money and only made 400rwhp! My engine is completely stock (minus 42# injectors and tuning), even runs the stock exhaust manifolds and cats.

At 8# boost, my ATI equipped LS1 makes 462rwhp. That's with a very safe A/F ratio of 11.x/1 and using only 91 octane fuel - which limited me to 17 degrees total timing.

With real fuel, and a more aggressive tune, it would be into the mid 470's on a totally stock engine.

Dream big!

That's one of the reasons I may be selling mine at the labor day car show .....an LS1 with a blower can take almost anything. However, there is an LS1 with an intercooled Vortech at my local 1/8 track that can't pull any more MPH than mine (~91 MPH) but I guess there are always variables to consider.

Anyway, if someone was to buy and mod an LT1 or an LS1 at this point the money should be about the same overall Dyno# for Dyno# ........so ....lol

I'm considering an LS1 SS T-Top or LS1-WS6 ragtop.....btw, dumb question ....is there an LS1-SS ragtop? ......this is only if I can sell mine for top dollar at the car show.

Yeah there is a guy here in town with an 8# ATI kit with twin intercoolers. I beat him at the track in my friends 2000 SS with a cam and longtubes. I got a 13.0 @ 110 from the SS, the blown WS6 netted a best for the day of 13.1@110. He has no tuning done and also added some 38# (?) injectors. I'm thinking a tune would do him well. I bet the thing is pulling crazy timing.

Wink

i'd be pretty pissed if i spent 5k on a super charger and only made 450 hp. we're looking at about 520 rwhp or so with twin turbo setup on a stock engine, running 7 psi. we're also looking into finding an lt1 to do a single turbo kit for, and then dyno that as well, the hp numbers shouldn't be different really between the two.

That sound like sweet numbers. Can the motor handle that HP long term?

406HP, 383TQ with mods in sig. Then BOOM! That was seeing 6-7lbs on the gauge.

Well I did 450 rwhp with a CC305, 1.6 RR's , longtubes, catback, and a 8# twin intercooler ATI in a A4 with a 2800 vigi.

First off.....it's a PowerDyne...2nd....it's only 6psi...third...where in the hell did you find PowerDynes for 5k? If you purchased one somewhere along the line you got ripped bud....heck....a friggin P1SC is what 3200 with intercooler so you can imagine what a Powerdyne costs. Some people.....

I've had the supercharger on since 1995. After breaking 3 pistons on 9 pounds, the motor has been rebuilt with forged pistons and h-beam rods. It is still a 2-bolt, 355 LT1.
After the motor was rebuilt and run without the blower for around 1500 miles, I bolted on 7 psi pulley. Then 9 psi, now 10-11 psi with a 12-rib belt.
On my first dyno with the 12-rib belt (seeing approx. 10 psi boost), I made 480 rwhp. After overhauling the exhaust (flp longtubes, twin cats, custom single 3" midpipe, twin magnaflow mufflers) it made 524 rwhp and was running a little rich at peak power, about 11.6:1.
Since then I have added a solid intake pipe (homemade, 3.5" mandrel bent steel) and it feels a little stronger still. Basically, stock programming & timing, even though I do have a smartspark and LT1 edit, I really haven't messed with the timing at all. I have not attempted to lean it out anymore, as it runs pretty good like this.

Thumbs up

I'd be proud of those numbers...not bad.
