Anyone running the AEM Tru-Boost Controller?

I have one on order from Jose at FI. Looks like a simple enough device. Right now the motor defaults to about 10 psi on the spring alone. Adding the boost controller should allow me to 'scramble' to 14psi with the touch of a button. That should put me at about 700 rwhp(dyno jet). I'm going to dyno it on the spring and at 14psi and see for sure. I *think* the controller will be here prolly next Monday. It would be sweet if it got here before Sat but we all know, that seldom happens.
Anyway, looking for other users of this Boost Controller to get their impressions of the device.
Thanks,

No wastegate - no boost controller

No experience with it, but let us know how it goes. I would eventually like to setup a nice one. I think I would just write some code for MS though and run it from my computer.

Really? No wastegate? Dang.. I never heard of doing that. Mine seems to open at 3,000rpm.
I'll let you know how she goes...

I think he is maxing the turbo anyways so the wastegate wouldnt even need to open really.

On a side note - Check out some of these historic qualifying specs. where wastgates were blocked off to max out impeller speeds.

5.2bar (75.4psi) of boost and 1200hp out of tiny little motors.

Ya, sorry for the mild hijack. I do have one, but if I turn my boost controller ($5 one) up it basically blocks off the gate which has an extra long screw threaded into the top of it crushing the spring - I don't have a gate then.

Right foot and temp determine my max boost. It does spike in the mid range but its so quick I don't really worry about it. In reality it does still open, it just closes in the upper range

Again let us know how this one goes, if I ever step up to anything bigger I will definatly need a better controller.

I have seen some drag cars run no waste gate or blow off valves - crazy automatic setups that go through motors like candy anyhow.

Just got it about an hour ago
(See? No matter what people say, it never arrives before the weekend Lol...)
I just took it out of the box and took some pictures. I haven't posted them yet because they're phone-camera pics and they look really crappy. I has a bunch of stuff included. Two bezels, one silver, the other black. Two face plates, white and black. Two different types of connector possibilities are included. Ribbed nipples and -4an(?) brass connectors just in case you want to use steel braided lines methinks. A big roll of tubing and a long azz wiring harness. Instructions are a little spartan. It portrays all the settings and options but there's spartan amount of pictures/diagrams. It has something referred to as a 'sintered muffler'. Of course the sintered part means it's porous metal and I guess it's to dissapate some noise as it bleeds off boost. It's a little cone shaped brass part that screws into the solenoid. I'll try to get it installed tonight and If I get it done, I'll report back.
PM coming...

When I worked with pneumatics a lot, we used those little mufflers on exhaust valves to quiet the air coming out, so those are common.

update? How easy is it to adjust. how well does it hold boost. how easy is it to read. How does that scramble setting work.

I'm very happy with it. Yes, like most things, the more you diddle with it, the more simple it seems. The only thing I am still puzzled about, and maybe it's just being new to EBC(Electronic Boost Controllers), is the fact you can't set it for a given PSI and be done with that setting. Obviously, it knows the unit of measure (You specify the UOM when you run thru the setup) and it knows what the PSI/KPA/BAR it is sensing, so why can't it just be clever enough to sample the current setting every 100th of a second and compare it to your 'threshold' setting and activate the solenoid when it is exceeded? Instead you have to set it at a low duty cycle, take it for a drive and then reset the duty cycle higher/lower based on the test until you get where you want. Right now, I've got it set to 30 (so that's 30% of whatever it applies it to. No one seems to have a idea of what the heck it's 30% of) At any rate, out of 10 blasts on the freeway, it goes to 12.9 to 13.1 PSI, probably depending upon what gear I'm in. I really need a passenger with me to watch the pillar pod because the car is accelerating so hard through my 4.10 gears that I can't really afford to look at it during the blast. The nice thing is that afterwards, you can press and hold the 'right' side button for 2 seconds and it will display the highest boost it attained since you turned on the gauge. It will do that for both "A" and "B" settings. I haven't hooked up the scramble boost yet. I can tell you it is a lot of fun having this can and the boost controller has added a new dimension to the experience.

Any idea on when you will hit the dyno again?
