STS turbo set up

I was looking at how the turbo was set up and wouldn't the airfilter get really dirty after a few months of driving around and wouldn't the piping/ turbo get rusted?

Yes. Use 'search' and you'll find tons of discussion on the STS.

Re: STS turbo set up

I usually wash my filter every 2 months or so and the pre-charger about once a month. The pipe will not get rusty. The charge pipe is coated inside and out using HPC.

We have had the system on for a year now daily driving without any problems. Depends on road conditions and how much you drive. I clean the filter about every oil change or so.

I thought of that, then I also though that it wouldnt be that hard to create a plastic box to surround the filter and attached to the underside

Re: STS turbo set up

I was looking at the pics on jl's site yesterday and noticed there is only one exhaust outlet and its on the right side which looks kinda dumb to me. Is there an option to have a dual outlet exhaust?

Re: STS turbo set up

I have never seen one with duals, but I am sure it can be done. BTW, where do you guys run your cars down here? I see all kinds of F-Bods/Mustangs/Vette's down here. Do you know the guy with the Pewter Z28 that is loud as hell? He lives somewhere near Charlestown Rd Close to me. I can hear that car from 2 miles away! Luke

Re: STS turbo set up

As for exhaust the LT1 has the basic exhaust, and the LS1 has the custom STS center exhaust. It wouldn't be a problem for any exhaust shop to fab up a dual outlet.
Teal were you refering to me, we are in South FLA.
