Thumbs up Single turbo project underway.

I'm freshening up my 357 LT1 and building a single turbo setup.

I bought an Innovative GT80 turbo and 51mm Indygate. The turbo has dual ball bearings, 1.32 A/R, R-trim, and divided housing.

Going to be making both headers from 321 stainless, and most likely 1 5/8 primaries. 3.5in downpipe.

Not sure on what to do for an intercooler yet. I'm thinking about front-mounting an ATI 3-core???

Does anyone know if each bank should run one side of the divided housing, or should both banks be joined before the turbo?

My goal is 750-800rwhp. Hopefully I can pull it off

Jim according to a couple of books it helps to keep them separated. That's why they created the divided housing.

Also if you need something welded let me know...

My new TIG works pretty well on Aluminum and Stainless.

Awesome jim...that turbo is capable of some serious airflow.

Did you nab that off of turbomustangs.com? someone had one for sale there

And ya, you are suppose to run each bank into each side of the divided housing

May the boost be with you

I dont think it will matter if you leave each bank seperated or route them together on a Sbc v8 setup. the idea behind the divided housing is to use exhaust scavenging effect to help with spool up. Your crossover pipe will bring all the sides from the one bank together so i dont think it will help. If you use log style manifolds it shouldnt matter at all.
