S-Trim to T-trim questions
Given an average blower condition, how much do you guys think it would cost to upgrade from a V-2 SQ S-trim to a T-Trim?
Out of all who have done this already, was it worth it afterwards? I'm currently doing 12psi with my SQ S-Trim(w/aftercooler), and thought about going up to the T-Trim to get more power. I don't really have a power goal(per se), just want to spin a T-Trim to the upper most safe rpm limit, while keeping the A/F ratio at or around 11.5.
With engine analizer I seem to come out at 535+\- rwhp. The motor is built for boost and I'm running the dreadded cc305 @114 lsa. Which brings up another delima, what cam should I go with. I'm trying to figure this out, so don't feel like commenting on that one because I don't have my new flow numbers due to my heads are currently being worked over and freashed up again. My CR will be around 9 to 1 or 9.1 to 1.
Just wondering what are the pros and cons to stepping up to a T-Trim. And from those that have done it, would you recomend someone else to do it.

Re: S-Trim to T-trim questions
I can't think of an cons to stepping up to the T-trim, you will only gain performance. As far as price, do a search here and see what some of the T-trims have been listed for in the parts for sale section, it will give you an idea of about how much they have been going for. I have seen some pretty good deals on them in the past.
As far as the cam, when you get your flow numbers, get in touch with an engine builder or a cam manufacturer to have a custom grind made. There was a thread a few days ago about custom cams and guys here on the board seem to be satisfied with SStrokerAce and the cams he sets them up with.

Re: S-Trim to T-trim questions
One con is the T-trim will make way more noise. That is one of the reasons I went to the SQ trim. It is nice and quiet.
Maybe vortech will eventually make a quiet t-trim or larger blower with helical cut gears, kinda similar to the Paxton Novi 2000. Apparently the clearances are way tighter with those gears vs the straight cut type.
I am happy with my S-trim, SQ version for street driving. It makes more than enough power.

Re: S-Trim to T-trim questions
I was in the middle of making a decsition to step up with the Z. The T-Trim being the biggest piece. Running through the heads again and choosing a new cam, I figured the next thing to look at was the blower. There will be that noise I'd have to listen too
