Roots type blower on an LT1?

Anyone ever seen it done? If anyone has pics I'd appreciate it. Oh this would be a carbeurated motor btw with a B&M 144 blower on it. Let me know if it can be done. Thanks

ROOSTER93V8 has one but I think he's going to switch over to a centrifugal.

Do a search for him.

Re: Roots type blower on an LT1?

The 144 is too small to make any decent power.
you'll have to chop the cowl to get it to fit.
you'll need a HUGE hood to cover it up.
roots blowers are nowhere near as efficient at compressing air than centrifugal blowers (meaning intake temps are a lot hotter)

other than that, it'll work.

I would recommend going with the setup similar to that of rooster93v8, but use a stock '03 cobra blower since the inlet is on the side instead of the top. It won't be carbureted, but you'll likely save yourself from cutting the cowl to make it fit.
