I just found the old GMHTP with the yellow C5 from Lingenfelter. IT looked like it basically replace the intake with the Eaton blower. It was running a parallel shaft to turn the belt on the backside of the blower. The other end of the shaft was turned by the stock serpentine belt. Intake to the blower was routed pretty much in the factory location, since the intakje of the blower is in the same spot that the thottle body was in. It seems like a pretty much bolt on apllication once the intake is taken care of. I would think that an instant 6-8 lbs of boost from a reliable, inexpensive blower would be a great seller. Rooster, once you get yours running, please send me some pics. I would love to see it. Thanks,

Kyle

I would thinka manufacturer could produce this kit for similar prices of other entry level superchargers. And with all honesty, I would probably buy a kit like this before other brands due to ease of installation, reliability, instant boost, cooler temps (non intercooled), andease of instalation. I also remember BBK produced a roots type blower that used an Eaton for the Fox bodied Mustangs. As far as price at the time, it was one of the cheapest available.

Yes. The roots style blowers are supposed to offer coller temps than a comparably boosted Cent. unit. Of course if you intercool the latter, the temps will be lower.
Of course, this is all based on relayed information and is not based on actual testing on my part.

Well i dont see why you would want a roots and dont say low end torque. If your on street tires/drag radials the low end torque will be worthless. They produce higher intake temps. Inner cooler issues. Boost limited compared ATI/VTEC. I would not say a roots is any more reliable either. If Ford was not a 6 dollar stock maybe the could have afford to put a real blower on their Cobra and not a freaking heat pump. Why did they do this because roots blowers are cheap $$$.
english translation...

i dont have a goddamn clue about roots blowers, but i want to act smart so ill spew some bull**** about my particular ignorant opinion.

In looking at this the only question I have is how is the IAC going to be addressed?
The normal TB IAC hole goes to the special passages in the intake, how will this setup idle?

Only time will tell!!!

Check out the post in advance tech on injector positioning

Don't know if the IAC is going to pose a problem when the TB is so far up stream, Also if IAC ports where nessary a traditional SBC wouldn't work

I would not go with a roots style supercharger on an LT1 for one simple reason: If it was able to work, it would have been developed already. IT isn't proven yet. Like another guy said, eaton already canned it due to head gaskets failing. Before I purchased the ati, I spoke with a guy from B&M. He said they were developing a roots type blower for the LT1. Well, that was back in 1995. Never seen it. Probably never will. One good advantage of a centrifugal is that you can go back to normally aspirated without swapping intake manifolds.
