rod,pistion?

im rebuilding a 95 lt1 and im stuck on the pistons. i havnt gotten the bottom taken apart yet but are the pins pressed into the rod and floating in the piston or vise versa? also im looking at some scat forged rods and trw forged pistons the pin hole both says .927 and they are made for pressed fit. are are they already factoring in the tolerances and just rounding? and the big end says 2.100 are the factoring in a set of standard bearings already beins the journal is 2.100? these are the pistons n rods lloyd recommended to me but i wanted to be sure im ordering the right ones before i send this order out. any help is greatly appreciated.

I found it a little hard to follow your post, but I will give it a try.

are the pins pressed into the rod and floating in the piston or vise versa? The pins are a press fit in the rod.

also im looking at some scat forged rods and trw forged pistons the pin hole both says .927 and they are made for pressed fit. are are they already factoring in the tolerances and just rounding? Which "they"? The pins would have the same OD regardless of the rod. The difference is in the the small end of the rod.

and the big end says 2.100 are the factoring in a set of standard bearings already beins the journal is 2.100? I have no idea what you are ordering. But if the rod and crank are standard the clearance for the bearing is already there (in the rod).

I am not sure I understood the questions, hope this helps. If you are having machine work done, have the shop order the parts. They are more likely to order the right thing and they are responsible if it is not right. they will also make a few extra $$$ and they will like you more better.

ya sorry about that i had alot of stuff goin through my head shoulda worded that better but thanks so if scat says the small end of the rod is .927 and lunati says the pin is .927 they have already factored in the .0008 to .0012 tolerance and are just rounding? and ya im having it bored .030 deck planed and balanced hopefully wont have to have it line honed. hopefully that sounds better
