It is plentiful enough clearance to the ground. In fact if you sitting in your car behind my car. Chance are you won't notice there is a turbo mounting there. Here is a pic from behind.

Sorry no dyno# or actual track# yet. About 2 yrs a go, I was running 50s injector and stock ecm that has converted to 2 bar map sensor. The 50s injector was maxed out at 14psi of boost that equal to 600+rwhp?

This yrs I installed DFI Gen 7+ and 96s injector. Got the car up runnung but never really got the chance to drive and tune it. The car sit in the garage for a the whole Summer. Bummer.. Just want to take a break away from car stuffs, as I have other priority.

RealQuick.

I am not using the dual sync distri. I am using the Delteq system and still using the opti for crank signal. Work real well.

Re: Rear mount turbo

your set up is kickass no doubt.. im very happy to see that someone has set up a kickass street setup with a custom rear mount.. i pretty much see it the same as you and am doing mine for the same reasons you did, cost, ease of construction/not haveing too mess with too much in the engine compartment,AC pluss id just kind of like too prove that a good street set up that puts down good #s all around, including the track without havent too scrifice any of the above got anymore pics? how is your exhaust set up? im curious as too your intircooler set up as well.. im useing a 383 as well but plan too go with a FMIC and id like too get 500-550hp out of it

How in the hell did you go to 2 bar maps sensor? Would it be real benificial over just compensating for boost like most people do (adding fuel through the PE table?)???

Using a 2 bar map is like using a 1 bar map (both read 0-5volts). The difference is the 1 bar reads vaccuum to 0 psig. The 2 bar reads vaccuum to 14.5 psig. This means you will have to scale the tables in half for anything that uses in MAP as an input. The major benefit for this is the control of your timing tables. Now you can specifically control timing at different boost levels.

Well do you have to do anythign to go to this? BVecause the way Bryan at PCMforless is ging to add fuel sounds hard, and this is why i was having him do it. This sounds like I may actuly be able to tune it myself with a little practice (pull timing where knock is at a certain boost.... add fuel where needed.... these things sound easier with the 2 bar)...

If you want to run a 2 bar, I would have Bryan do the tune (that way you know all the tables got converted). Then fine tweak his tune yourself after.

I don't have any pic of the whole exhaust system. I don't have the camara any more. A short down pipe is 5" of 90* and gradually contour to the 5" straight pipe that you see a little behind the car horizontal. In side the 5" straight pipe, we weld in some baffle there, it sound very good, just slightly sound for my taste; slightly louder than my old B&B Triflow catback exhaust. We weld in 4 exhaust tips to make it look good

The water to air intercooler is a barrel type, mount under the car next to the tranny. The water tank is also mount under the car behind the passenger seat. I can fill cold ice in to the tank from behind the passenger seat. But the water tank is chilled by the ac system any way. The system work really well. WOT back to back run at 14psi the IAT never go pass 135 degree, at cruising speed, the IAT is only at 98 degree.

Here is a pic of the intercooler mounted and water tank.

This is my buddy help built the roll bar and turbo system.

My friend did the 2 bar map for me. Not PCMFORLESS. It seems to run ok some time and some time it does not because some time it does not do what it supposed to do. This also make tuning very difficult that is why I gonna with DFI Gen 7+.

Well that poses a problem because i asked him if he could do a 2 bar and he said no... But maybe I will inquire again...

Re: Rear mount turbo

my sts kit spools at just over 3100rpms, and put down 694rwhp, with a few othe r mods, IMO its much more efficient and reliable than front mounted turbos....and ask those guys in the 6s how many tens of thousands of dollars they spent on it and how often they replace all the garbage that breaks
