Ram air on a speed density system

i believe this is the right section for this.

I found a functional ram air hood for my 93z and i was wondering if its worth doing or if it will make my car run lean, because of the speed density system.

Everyone ever done this?

The whole point of a "speed density" is that it determines fueling by looking at the engine rpm and density of the air in the plenum. It finds the density by measuring pressure and temperature. Draw your own conclusion from there.

A ram air hood will not force air into your motor. Compressibility of air becomes a factor around 250 knots, about 290mph. It may free up some restriction and allow your motor to breathe a little better, but certainly not enough to require a tune. It will certainly make your car look cooler

Look elsewhere then. A good CAI will cost about 1/4 what a hood will and get virtually the same results.

As said above, it takes crazy speeds before you ram any air into the motor.
