quick question on my blow off valve

I have an ati p1sc 12# kit. I was wandering if I can vent my blow off to the atmosphere without any problems instead of back into the intake?

blow off

yes you can but you need to move your maf to the pressure side of the intake. right now you are pulling the air through the maf and it is what they call metered air, by moving the maf you will be able to vent it to air instead of back into the intake

Why would the maf have anything to do with venting the blowoff to the atmosphere? I was going to just plug the hole that the blowoff goes into before the blower and allow the blowoff to just vent under the car. I'm not sure why this would hurt anything.

blow off

because when you pull the air through the maf it is what they called metered (the computer has accounted for it ) that is the reason the tube running off the surge valve is ducted back into the intake after the maf if you cap the hole and vent to air it will run like s***. but if you move the maf into the intake after the intercoolers you are know blowing through the maf and the surge valve is no longer a problem with the metered air and you can vent to air not to mention the car will idle a little better set up this way

if I move my maf, will I have to get the car tuned again? I've heard that the maf will max out on the pressure side. I don't have a shop around me to dyno tune yet. I can only do mail order right now. Thanks for your help.

The MAF should be reading the same amount of air on the pressure side. You shouldn't need a re-tune.

With the mods you have, I'd definitely get a dynotune, rather than relying on mail order. try here: http://www.westol.com/lpavtis/
