I just bought a p600b and was wondering if there was a difference in say running 10 # on a stock lt1 compared if i ran a d-1sc at the same 10 #s. Will it make the same power or will the d-1sc make more I always thought that boost is boost but would like to know for sure. Thanks
A larger SC will allow higher levels of boost without knocking because you use a smaller pulley on a smaller SC to get to the same level. Doing so raises the RPM of the blower, raising heat, raising KR.
So, quite possibly you will see less power with a smaller SC regardless of boot #s being the same.

i dont agree with lswho. the rpm of the supercharger shouldnt really matter. heat is a factor but thats what an intercooler is for. also safe boost is really retermined by the point of detonation, which in my opinion has more to do with the volume of air pushed into the engine. and a larger supercharger will force in more air than a smaller supercharger at the same poundage of boost. that is because of compressor wheel size. a larger sc will in theory create the same level of boost at a lower rpm like he said though, but the volume of air will be higher which will require more fuel and timing.

Either blower you mentioned will out perform a stock LT1 shortblock (stock pistons) if that is what you are getting at. Going outside a compressors efficiency curve will increase discharge temperature and crank power needed to turn it, but you won't be there.
If you are trying to justify high boost on a stock pistons than godspeed. I guess I'll say that big blowers are for big flow.

10 psi of boost from a P600B will ultimately yield the same power as 10 psi of boost from a D-1SC as long as they are "pullied" to create the identical 10 psi of boost. BUT, the simularities stop there. The step-up ratio of the D-1SC is significantly higher than that of the P600B. The compressor map is a lot more aggressive and will result in building that 10 psi of boost earlier in the rpm range and therefore give you that "maximum" power sooner. On the flip side, it will require more HP to spin the D-1SC as compared to the P600B.
