Procharger oil return and canton pan?

I did not want to punch a new hole in my new Canton oil pan so I was wondering how did everyone utilize the oil provision thats already built into the pan on the passenger side? Here is a pic:

I was just looking at the same thing on mine, Im going to weld a fitting in the front corner of mine tho, that plug on the kick outs arnt a good spot for a return sence its already under oil it might have a hard time returning all the way back there.

Exactly as above. Do not install the return in the fitting in the sump. That fitting is for a temp gauge. The return should be as high as possible. The flow rate of a P600B is about 1/2 qt a min @ 50 psi and standard 10w30 oil. The D1/D2 steps up to 2 qt a min. That really needs an unimpeded return path to keep from having seal issues.

Umm... then where do you guys suggest that I weld in a bung? Is a welded bung better than say fuel bulkhead fitting?

Im going to make a fitting to weld in so if I ever get a SC series charger then I can just put a plug in there, Im putting the plug right in the factory spot, on the front driver corner as high as I can get it.

O BTW did you check the fitment on your pan yet? I had to bend in the crank scraper a little on my 383, but I have big manley h beam rods, just make sure they dont hit on yours like they did on mine.

The pan cleared my H-beam rods however the machinest had to bend my dip stick tube and notch the baffle a bit get the dip stick tube to slide in. Other than that its good.

Thanks for the pics! Do you happen to have any pics of it installed? Also was that braised or MIG welded on?

Re: Procharger oil return and canton pan?

Here's mine. I had a 1/2" npt fitting welded into the pan. The first fitting is a 1/2 npt to -8 adaptor and the 2nd is a -8 cap. I'll use a 90 degree hose fitting when I install the blower in the next few months. I'm still trying to get the thing ready to start.

Re: Procharger oil return and canton pan?

Thanks for the pictures guys! Once I get the engine on the stand I'll mock up the blower and will probably go with a -8AN bung and lines to the blower. does anyone know what size the oil outlet bung is on a D1 procharger?
