pointers on id'ing an installed cam?

quickly: 2 years ago, i upgraded to a supercharged 383 stroker LT4. i had a falling out with the builder, and never received any specs on this motor whatsoever. i never had a major issue until i lost a valvespring recently. so i now have both heads, gaskets, intake, etc. at my machine shop. because i have no PN for anything in the motor, i cannot id valvetrain components. my machinist can measure everything he has, however, he would like to know what cam i am running. we are trying to be thorough in determining why it happened, as well as matching everything correctly for rebuild.

to my question. when will i be able to id my cam? my machinist says that there are numbers stamped into the front of the cam. i now have the opti off, and i was hoping to see something behind it, however no luck. i assume i have to remove the timing cover (as well as pull the crank hub). is this correct? once i remove the cover, will i be able to get a PN off the front of the cam? any advice is appreciated, as this is my first time delving this deep into the motor myself. thanks...

BTW: a wise word... joe prince of the now defunct JPR is a huge hack. if you love your car, dont let him even do your windows. i think he ported with a rock and chisel. someone needs to seize his socket set...
