Is a D1SC capable of making 700 rwhp.
Is a D1SC capable of making 700 rwhp.
On an fbody with proper heads and cam. The differance in price for the D1sc vs. the F1 is $400 dollars and there is only a 125cfm differance between the two. Is there a big differance between the two?

Re: Is a D1SC capable of making 700 rwhp.
This was one issue I was dealing with. I am going to go with the F1 instead of the D1 for no more than it costs. I would rather pay a little extra and have a better blower in the F1. I am wanting to run about 18 pounds of boost and I don't really think that the D1SC would be best suited for that. If I was wanting to only do about 12-15 pounds, I would probably go with the D1. But, I tend to go a little overkill on a lot of things.
Re: Is a D1SC capable of making 700 rwhp.
The D-1 actually has a higher boost capability than the D-1SC due to the internal step up ratio. They do flow the same, but the step up ratio allows a larger blower pulley on the D-1 over the D-1SC to help prevent belt slip. Slippage is usually the limiting boost factor (not blower size) unless cogged. The F-1 takes it a step further & will allow a higher overall boost and/or peak power limit.
For reference, the D-1 will make 18+# on a 383 if built correctly & push 700rwhp.

I have a D-1 and make that with 16lbs of boost with 600 engine rpm to go before the blower maxes out.
But if you are buying new, buy the F series you can grow into it.

I've seen 4th gen do 700rwhp with D1, I'm sure there are others.
Go YSi!

No, the case is the same, just the internals change.

Now, is the F1C the same case size as the F1 and like you say, will fit the same as the F1 and the D1SC using the same bracket?
Sorry for the confusion, I mis-read your post. The F1C has the EXACT same outside dimensions as the F1. The F1R is the same as the F1, but the compressor housing is .75" larger in diameter. The F1C pretty much has the same compressor wheel as the F1R, but it's smaller to fit in the F1 compressor housing.
All of the F1x (and F2) blowers will bolt to the same brackets as the P1SC and D1SC.
