Pics of Turbo LT1/LT4 Engine Longblock
I've been taking advantage of the "For Sale" section over the last few months and picked up a very nice used shortblock and some brand new AFR 195 Eliminator Street Ported Heads. The shortblock is a 355 with wiseco -20 dished forged pistons and an eagle forged rotating assembly and a mystery blower cam. The heads were the summit part number 1031 heads that someone bought and decided not to use. I am still undecided on whether to take this shortblock apart or to just slap the heads and accessorys on and go. I am definitely going to pull the cam and get the part number off the back. Just want to make sure that the cam is properly sized for the heads and will have good street manners.

Ya. Might as well do it right the first time. As it stands now I have a perfectly good stock shortblock. No need to throw a bunch of boost at it and break a ring land and make it worthless. I'm sure once I begin switching the engine out I will want to upgrade the clutch to a street twin. And so on, and so on....
BTW does anyone know how much it would cost to get a machine shop to take my shortblock apart measure everything and put it back together?

I'm really excited about this corvette turbo buildup. I'm hoping to make 700hp with those new AFR eliminator heads and 15psi of boost. Hopefully I can post some good 1/4 mile times and still have descent street car.
I'm also looking forward to see how much power and what times you can put down with that new F1A setup you bought.

I'd just go through it, that way at least you know it is fresh and you won't have to worry about it. Just do new bearings/rings if you really trust the buyer, if not maybe check the balance job on it. Not sure how much a machine shop would charge to do it, I assemble my motors myself.
