Part # needed for JE rings

Does anybody know the part number for the JE "Hardened Nitrous Series" rings for a 4.030 bore? I looked in their catalog but didn't see these listed.

What I found was the 8200 series 1/16 1/16 3/16 HNS Ring set, with part # J820F8-4030-5.

Is this correct?

Not sure what you are asking. Right for your piston? What piston?

Well Rich, I am collecting part # and prices for my 383 built.

Here are the parts I plan on using:
  • Callies Crank 3.75" stroke (either Dragonslayer or Racemaster)
  • Callies Billet I-beam rods
  • Callies Billet 4 bolt splayed main caps
  • JE "Extreme Duty" -31cc domed pistons for a 5.7" rod
  • AFR 220cc heads with 76cc chambers
  • Custom turbo cam
  • 80mm turbo

I am looking to make 650-750 rwhp on pump gas (not all the time) thus the low compression ratio.

I think you would do just as well with the standard rings JE supplies, but if you want the HNS rings, just call them for a correct PN. Sounds like very good parts. I'd upgrade the wrist pins though. Again, call JE for advice. They are quite helpful.

Chad heres a nitrous/boost ring package I've used.

Childs&albert numbers for each ring location. Upper is a tool steel, second is a zero gap taper face, third is standard tension oil control.

rl-116x4.035 ................ g-2000 steel alloy
zgtf-116x4.030 ............ ductile taper face zg
os-316x4.030 ............... oil control rco std

Set number would be rs-53zx4.035

That Je number is for 1/16, 1/16, 3/16 ring package
also a tool steel type upper, non-moly second, hard carbon oil.
Yes its capable of withstanding greater cylinder temps with increased resistance too fatige [sp?] and failure. Cross hatch finish is very important with either of these two, be sure your shop has the correct stones.

Also of note, for brake in you need to run a very light single weight oil for the first 10 minnutes to seat the tool steel stuff.

I checked on those Hellfire rings today. I couldn't find them in my JE catalog at home yesterday.
Federal Mogal is the manufacture of Hell Fires, your part number would be R19100-35 for a 4.035 file fit 1/16, 1/16, 3/16 package.
Check your PM's.

Sounds like you are building a very powerful combo. If you already bought the pistons and have wrist pins I am not sure it would be worth it, but what I was referring to was getting an upgraded wrist pin.

Pistons are the same from my previous setup... IIRC they were the "upgraded" wrist pins...

my plan is 700rwhp or a tad more...

Your planned horsepower goal sounds alot like mine. I was wondering what you were using for fuel requirements? and is this a "street car" or strip?.
