One more turbo LT1
Re: One more turbo LT1
Kit looks great! If you are running pusher fans,PLEASE
tell what fans you are running and maybe post a a few pics.
I think I am running the same radiato as you only my core support was cut and replaced with square tube to expose the top of the rad. I need help with the fans if you can tell me anything it would help a lot.

I have a mess of hose right now because of that.
So if I can swap the direction of the hoses then i am set and it will clean everything up a lot.

Sorry for the delay getting back. Cable company screwed up my account when I moved.
Yes, the Alt sits down on the drivers side. I am using the fatory ALT with another custom bracket to hold it. I don't have a good picture of the original setup (before turbo one that looks good) but I do have one of the "work in progress" one I have now. It is just temporary until I have time to make a nice one but it consists of a long bolt through short bolt hole on alt spaced out by nuts and a rather ugly 90degree alum "L" shaped braket that connects to the motor and other Alt bolt hole.

I like it alot, very smooth and no low rpm surging. Has a slight hint of a lope at idle.... or maybe I have tuning issues lol. Drives like the stock cam just better. I haven't had a chance to go above 5000rpm yet so I don't know what the top end is like. I would recommened it.
I've seen your core support, I like it. I wish I would have done that to start with and may actually end up doing it too
I just re-did the fan setup two days ago
I used to have 14" pusher and puller fans but now I have a 15" puller and 14" pusher. I have also mounted a 10" fan on the IC. The way my radiator sits the bottom is about 1" below the core support and 1.5" above the lowest spot on the K-member. I have a custom braket made to hold the bottom of the radiator. I also attached a "work in progress" air damn to the lower rad support. With the air damn on the temp stays 175 at 40mph+ without the fans. The 15" puller is enough to cool temps down to 175 while parked. The pusher can keep temps down to about 190 by itself parked. Both fans on keep it at as low as it can go parked or driving. FWIW I live in in 100 degree high humidity Texas heat so I went a little over board with the cooling fans. IMHO the 15" puller is enough. be warned though, its 4.25" thick. Its about 1" from my crossover. The exh wrap keeps the temps in check and the plastic from melting
These pictures look a little misleading about how everything sits for some reason. The clearances are more than they appear

LT1-TA, thats the way I have it except that I have the expansion tank to keep the lines free of air since my radiator is below the waterpump. If the top of your radiator is above the water pump by atleast an inch then switching the hoses should not be a problem.

IMHO the quality is great
what a way to bring up an old post..but DAMN I want my turbo there.=(...wish I could figure out a way to get it up there. I have half of a PTK kit and was planning on making the rest..and it stops right under the passenger side of the swaybar..maybe I can still get it up there. lol
Sorry to say it but if you want to put your turbo there you can forget about that GT42. I could be wrong but I just don't think it will fit
